Course Description

Program:

The ALS course comprises of an e-learning component & face to face learning. The course complies with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) standards.

The program involves rotating workshops and simulation scenarios. The program is also inclusive of ALS assessment.

Specific Objectives

  • Recognition, assessment & management of the critically ill patient using a structured ABCDE approach

  • Airway management skills

  • Basic Life Support skills

  • Defibrillation skills (manual & AED)

  • Cardiac arrest management using the ARC ALS algorithm

  • Work as an effective team member in a cardiac arrest
