Aims:

To provide the learner with the skills to be an accredited ALS instructor and assessor for the JMO ALS program within the NSLHD.  Instructing on this ALS program meets the requirement for JMO ALS recertification within the NSLHD.

ALS Train the Trainer program participants will explore issues related to the teaching and assessment of ALS including adult learning principles, standards for assessment, and use of the technology / equipment used in the program.

Specific Objectives

• Familiarisation and practice running the defibrillation station

• Familiarisation and practice running the Airway skills station

• Familarisation with the ALS assessment tool

• Practice conducting ALS assessments

• Practice providing feedback to learners.
