Course Description

The Sydney Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre presents this program in collaboration with the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI).


Aims

The CSS is an interdisciplinary / interprofessional one day course aimed to develop clinical supervisors’ competency, confidence and efficiency in managing their interactions with students.

 

Learning Outcomes

This course aims to provide supervisors with the tools to:

  • give and receive feedback

  • Conduct appraisal and assessment interviews

  • support/manage the ‘difficult' student/trainee

  • remediate poorly performing students

  • motivate students/trainees to change behaviour.

 


Training Techniques

The workshops involves role play and simulations with faculty actors. Content addresses situational specific procedural knowledge and communication techniques including conversation structure, language and non-verbal skills.
