Course Description

Between the Flags DETECT Adult Allied Health and Assistants in Nursing (AIN) is an educational program specifically designed to assist clinical staff to confidently identify and manage deteriorating patients.

 

Objectives and Learning Outcomes 

  • Discuss the reasons for the implementation of the Between the Flags Program

  • Describe the characteristics of physical health deterioration in a patient

  • Identify early signs of deterioration

  • Identify patients at risk for deterioration

  • Discuss the importance of communication and teamwork

  • Identify the barriers to effective communication in health care settings

  • Apply the ISBAR communication technique
