Description

Aims

This course aims to update the participants knowledge and skills in the management of some specific anaesthetic emergencies while also developing generic crisis management skills applicable to these emergency situations.

Topics covered:-

1. Clinical management of serious and rare anaesthesia events including anaphylaxis and “Can’t Intubate, Can’t Ventilate” (CICO)

2. Human factors and the application of Crisis Resource Management principles to prevent and manage these events

3. An update on CPR and Advanced Life Support

Training Methods

• Immersive scenarios with reflective debriefing

• Hands-on Skills Workshops

• Pause & discuss scenarios

• Video and case-based learning exercises

Maximum eight doctors per course.
